Formerly known as Dream Death, Penance play very high quality slow traditional Doom-metal. Fans of bands like St. Vitus or The Obsessed will probably really enjoy this! Returned to active duty in 1998 after taking a long break.
Melancholic yet melodic Doom-metal/rock in the vein of bands such as St. Vitus, The Obsessed andSpirit Caravan. Sometimes a bit more up tempo and "rocking", but generally speaking slow and very doomy. Wino-inspired Doom.
Orodruin play Old school Doom-metal, St. Vitus style. Painfully slow music, clean desperate vocals but with a slightly melodic touch. Rhythm section in particular creates a good doomy vibe. Misery and unhappiness all round. Nothing romantic or "gothic" about this band. Straight forward old school Doom the way the Doom gods intended it to be. If you're a fan of aforementioned St. Vitus or even Candlemass there is a big chance you will dig this.
Dark, harsh, brutal, modern death/doom much akin to death and perhaps also black metal. Endor plays interesting, original and very heavy music with tempos ranging from very slow and doomy to breakneck speed with blast beats. A very haunting, horrific and ungodly atmosphere is always present, and the vocals range from sullen spoken words to inhuman deep grunts and high-pitched screams, but with the main focus on the crushing and excellent guitars. A band that should appeal to almost any fan of dark, extreme metal.
A relatively new doom band (founded 2001) indented on creating the most grinding ultradoom ever. Influenced by bands such as Winter, Sleep and Abruptum. The band has composed two songs so far, clocking over one hour! Most remarkable is that these guys don't use any guitars! Just two bass guitars, synths and drums. One of the most promising new doom acts, bound to kick your metal ass!

Slow, heavy epic doom metal with clean vocals. Their album 'Sorrow of the angels' picks up where Candlemass left off with 'Nightfall' and is a true must for Candlemass fans. Older work shows a more death/doom face and even encorperates grunts (when nessary the band still very very sporadically uses grunts on newer work as well, like in one track on 'Of Empires Forlorn'). Newer work sees the band growing to extreme musical hight, composing some of the most epic and grand sounding Doom-metal around on the face of the earth. While Heaven Wept is one of the best Doom-metal bands all round and should not be missing from the collection of any Epic Doom fan, or any Doom fan for that matter. This is a band that should appeal to any Doom-metal fan.
Maybe the ultimate doom metal band creating a very powerful atmosphere filled with apathy, insanity, hate and disgust for the human race. Ultra slow music, very long tracks, a devastating, apocalyptic sound with samples and highly distorted vocals.
Very high quality Death/Doom-metal with dual vocals. In the vein of old Anathema and My Dying Bride. Extremely slow and, as the bandname suggests, mournful music that totally reaches back to the death/doom scene of the early 90s. Mourning Beloveth however are not a clone of any band from that time and clearly stand out on their own.
Beyond heavy Doom outfit that has quickly gathered an underground following with their extremely powerful live performances. When they are on a stage it is hard to get around them and the sheer thickly layered sonic attack they unleash upon their audience. Musically they play Doom in the vein of Electric Wizard, very thick unrelenting and very heavy Doom. The music has less of a "stoner-vibe" however and is more energetic.
Extremely powerful, brutal doom death with references to diSEMBOWELMENT and Ceremonium. Their compositions are long and mostly slow and heavy with some sporadic aggressive outbursts.
One of the most extreme Doom acts out there. Sort of like an unholy mixture between Funeral Doom and Sludge Doom. Ultra slow, Ultra heavy music that will appeal to all fans of extreme Doom. The sick screams add even more to the distorted musical view of Moss. The music however also knows some more ambient parts, which help the foreboding atmosphere even more. Moss is one of the most interesting Doom acts of recent times, but only for those who are into extreme Doom. If you are into Romantic, Epic or Stoner Doom this will probably not be your thing. If you love bands like Grief and Thergothon, and always wondered what it would sound like if those two styles mixed, then Moss is something you need to check out.
